The mentally ill don't always fare well in their interactions with cops. The fact that the cops failed to notify family members and their attorney for 15 hours after the victim's death is inherently suspect. I appreciate that this knife wielding man might have been dangerous,but compassion should have informed the police officers action once they had him subdued.
