Respecting Authority

The victims in this video were a man and his mother, simply coming home from work. You'll notice that the cop seems to find the fact the man isn't nervous or deferential offensive. The man seems to pass all the sobriety tests, but because of a little bit of attitude (maybe) these cops decide to teach him a lesson on who works for who. The cops later rationalize their behavior using words like behavior "manifestations" and "edginess." One excuse for this behavior might be that pulled over motorists are the number one hazard for police officers, but keep in mind, although being a police officer is undoubtedly very stressful, it is far from being the most dangerous occupation in the United States. From now on, whenever I interact with police officers, I will show some fear and address cops as either "sir" or "officer." My guess is that greatly reduces my chances of getting arrested or beaten.
