"Assaulting a police officer" certainly merits and necessitates a response, but we might ask our literal minded law enforcement officers if a shoe being kicked in his direction necessitates him punching, slamming against the wall, and taking a "lippy" teenager to the ground. Apparently, this burned-out cop just couldn't stomach attitude from a teenage girl.
