Videos of police brutality are often "rebutted" by counter videos that show what occurred before the police beating gets underway. In most cases, it doesn't matter. Police officers aren't supposed to inflict physical damage or pain according to how horrible they think a suspect soon to be to be victim is or has been. Police officers have a variety of choices they make when approaching and restraining individuals, but often, as video shows, they make very aggressive, violent choices all while "complying with department policy." Brutal violence is rarely the only way for police officers to detain individuals and is a piss poor technique for deescalating a situation. Thanks to the "Toxic Cops" channel on YouTube for this.
