Police officers desperate to make a bust in order to have something to justify their paycheck may very well violate your rights. The most interesting observations afforded by this video, in my opinion are as follows:
The cop's demeanor is very non- confrontational. His patina of professionalism is never blemished. Ironic, considering just how aggressive and desperate he is to walk all over the rights of these two guys.
The victim cum "cameraman" here seems to think the cop's description of the passenger as "nervous" was the legal pretext for detaining the car.Cops often make highly subjective, bullshit cover stories with terms like "erratic behavior," "abnormal behavioral manifestations," and so on. I suspect the victim should have told the police officer that he didn't consent to any kind of search and then left, but then again, the cop might have have arrested him for that. I would have stated for the record that I didn't consent to any search.
Whoever rehired this once fired (that rhymed) police officer must have done a piss poor background check.
The officer keeps on saying "I'm not overly concerned about anything for personal use," implying that he wouldn't arrest the driver or passenger for just having a little marijuana or cocaine. In fact, he would have arrested them on the spot and impounded the car if he had found any marijuana on the car.
